Shepherds Huts were originally a very basic mobile field shelter for use when shepherds needed to stay close to their flocks, particularly during the lambing season. They would have had a simple bed and a stove, and little else. The shepherd could bring the weaker lambs inside to offer some protection in poor weather.
With the relatively recent interest in Glamping, Shepherds Huts have taken on a new role, helped in part by television programs such as George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, in which all kinds of weird and wonderful structures are converted into offices, play or hobby rooms, or alternative forms of accommodation.
Now we at Two Hoots are excited to be able to offer Glamping breaks in our new Shepherds Huts as well as our Camping Pods. Gift vouchers are also available.
Two Huts at Two Hoots
We now have two new Shepherds Huts in addition to the four camping pods. These are traditionally built with a green corrugated exterior finish, but to our own specification with French doors in the centre of the long side, additional windows and more living space than the original huts. The interior is wood panelling painted cream.
Minimum 2 nights @ £95 per night.
Hire of bedding £30 per stay. (Bedding includes bottom sheet, quilt and cover, four pillows and slips.
The huts sleep 2 people in a king-size bed. Adults only (over 18).
Inside there is a king-size bed, mini-kitchen with small oven, fridge and kettle, electric lighting, sockets and heating, a TV/DVD player, log-burning stove, cassette toilet and sink, and small table & chairs. Outside there’s another table with chairs and we can supply a stand for disposable BBQs.
